CA AB 506 MANDATED REPORTER TRAINING AND BACKGROUND CHECK

As an En Fuego Kids Fellowship, you understand the importance of keeping children safe. A recent bill (AB 506) was passed by the State of California requiring volunteers and staff of Youth Service Organizations to complete training in child abuse and neglect reporting, and undergo Live Scan background checks.

AB 506 requires all Employees, Registered Adult Volunteers,Regular Volunteers,and Fellowships (age 18 or older) who have more than 16 hours a month (or 32 hours per year) of contact with a youth to complete a Live Scan background check (the digital version of inked fingerprinting).

AB-506 FELLOWSHIP PROCESS

1. REQUIRED STATE MANDATED REPORTER TRAINING

• All Employees, Registered Adult Volunteers, and Fellowship positions identified as requiring training shall complete California-mandated training (2 hours) beginning January 1, 2022. The training is available at www.mandatedreporterca.com/training/general-training

Regular Volunteer means a volunteer with En Fuego Kids who is 18 years of age or older and who has direct contact with, or supervision of, children more than 16 hours per month or 32 hours per year.

2. STATE TRAINING COMPLETED

• Submit your state Mandated Reporter Training Certificate to fellowship@enfuegomedia.com

3. BACKGROUND CHECK CONSENT FORM

• Submit the Background Check Consent Form (CLICK HERE to Download) to fellowship@enfuegomedia.com

4. LIVE SCAN BACKGROUND CHECK

• Complete the transaction by visiting www.ApplicantServices.com/ENFVOL
• Please ensure that you take a valid government issued ID such as a driver’s license, state government ID card or passport.
