What is an SSL Certificate Service?
With our SSL Certificate Service, we go through the process of applying for & setting up an SSL Certificate on your website so you don’t have to go through all of that confusing work yourself. When your site does not have an SSL Certificate, your business & your customers are at risk of their information being stolen by hackers. Simply having a website opens you up to a laundry list of items that could affect you on a major scale (I’ve comprised a small list of these further down in the page). If you take payments online, collect emails, make appointments or any customer information, you are placing yourself in heavy financial risk without one of these installed on your site. SSL Certificates, when properly installed, will encrypt your businesses & customers information so that it can not be accessed or viewed by anyone period. In short, an SSL Certificate shows your customers that your website is safe because you have taken the right steps to secure each and every one of your visitor’s information from the bad guys…EVERY time they visit.
Customers will be notified your site isn’t safe :
- In April of 2018, Apple released that with iOS 11.3 and macOS 10.13.4, Safari shows a “Website Not Secure” warning if a website that you’re visiting isn’t secure.
- In July of 2018, Google began displaying “Not Secure” on ALL websites that did not have an SSL Certificate installed on their site.
This means, even if you have no clue what an SSL Certificate is, and you go to a page without one… you are going to see “NOT SECURE” next to where you typed in your www.website.com. If you see NOT SECURE, are you going to stay on that site very long? We wouldn’t either.
What’s the Worst That Could Happen Without an SSL Certificate Service?
- Suffer an online attack or security breach
- Compromise or possibly even lose your customers information
- Lose a lot of money from hackers directly
- Operating against current country/region laws and regulations
- Kill your reputation
Do I Have One Already?
It’s very easy to tell if you have an SSL Certificate installed. Just look at the prefix to the www. in your website address. The difference lies within the first few characters of any web address. HTTP has been the standard for years but now they have added an “S” to the end, showing that an SSL Certificate has been installed and that the website is safe to browse. If you can type in “https://” then the rest of your URL… and your page loads, you have an SSL Certificate installed already.
At RISK for heavy Fines
When your website isn’t secure, as we stated earlier, you are the one left legally liable for any damages to a customer’s information or identity.
